The WhiteCore Player is available for Raspberry Pi, Windows, Mac and Linux, all on version 0.2.119.
Latest build 0.2.119, updated 10 Aug 2026. Installers are rebuilt on every release, so re-downloading always gives you the newest player.

How to install
- 1Download the ARM64 (.tgz) package onto your Pi.
- 2Open the Terminal application (on Raspberry Pi OS it is in the taskbar, or press Ctrl+Alt+T).
- 3Confirm the Pi is running a 64-bit OS. Continue only when this prints aarch64:Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:
uname -m - 4Go to your Downloads folder:Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:
cd ~/Downloads - 5Unpack the package:Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:
tar -xzf kraken-player-*linux-arm64.tgz - 6Run the installer (it will ask for your password, that is the administrator rights it needs):Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:

sudo bash appliance-pi.sh && sudo reboot - 8Expected result: Whitecore starts and the connected screen shows a six-digit pairing code. Sign in to the web dashboard, add a media player, and enter it.
- 9Maintenance shortcuts: Ctrl+Shift+Q exits kiosk mode for 10 minutes. Ctrl+Shift+K returns immediately. The appliance installer registers both shortcuts in Linux.
- 10If the startup message remains, press Ctrl+Alt+F2, sign in, and read the saved startup log:Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:
tail -100 /var/lib/kraken-player/kiosk.log - 11Install once. After pairing, future signed Whitecore releases update automatically; a repeated reinstall is not required.

How to install
- 1On the separate Windows player PC connected to the TV or LED display, open this page and click Download (Installer .exe). Do not install it on the computer running your Whitecore dashboard.
- 2Keep the Whitecore setup wizard open on the dashboard computer; you will enter the player's code there after installation.
- 3Sign into the Windows account that will run this screen. Double-click the downloaded file and approve the administrator prompt.
- 4Click Install. There is one clean setup path: no second Windows user and no Recommended or Standard mode choice.
- 5Whitecore starts automatically in the same Windows account and shows a six-digit pairing code. No restart or manual launch is required.
- 6On the separate dashboard computer, return to the setup wizard and enter that pairing code.
- 7Maintenance only: press Ctrl+Shift+Q on the player PC to open its desktop for 10 minutes; press Ctrl+Shift+K to lock it again.
macOS

sudo bash install-macos.sh - 6If macOS blocks it the first time, clear the quarantine flag then re-run the installer:Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine kraken-player - 7The player opens in your session; sign in to the web dashboard and enter the pairing code shown.
